About us
The Cradle Coast Authority (CCA) is a joint authority created to co-ordinate and drive econimic development across the nine local government areas of North-West and Western Tasmania.
The Authority's primary role is to identify priorities for economic development and to broker partnerships between the different levels of government, industry and community groups to address these priorities on a regional scale.
We pride ourselves with the ongoing sustainable tourism development in the Tarkine
The Authority has been working on the sustainable development of tourism in the Tarkine for more than seven years. Most of this work has been made possible through a grant from the Federal Governement Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
The work that we have been doing has been primarily around the publishing of the Tarkine Tourism Development Strategy and the Tarkine Aboriginal Tourism Plan. These two documents have been underpinned by extensive stakeholder consultation and independent market research. In our library you will find Tarkine related materials created by us, including;

• Encourgaement of tourism operators to adopt green friendly practices
• Ongoing development and implementation of the Tarkine brand
• Research focussing on the nature enthusiast target market and the Tarkine as Tasmania’s leading nature based desination
• Seek partnerships with tourism operators, organisations and others who aim to deliver sustainable tourism outcomes for the Tarkine
